Can you help send statisticians to train researchers in Africa?

Jun 28, 2016, 14:47 PM
The RSS Statistics in Africa appeal has just been launched, a new initiative to help fund statisticians to volunteer as tutors on statistics and probability MSc courses at the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS). AIMS centres in South Africa, Senegal, Ghana, Cameroon, Rwanda and Tanzania attract a diverse range of talented, highly-motivated men and women from all over Africa, and this initiative supports their statistical education.

To encourage more fellows to volunteer with AIMS, the RSS has pledged to cover the air fares of three fellows each year to travel to Africa to teach at an AIMS centre, and seeks donations to help raise £3,500 in 2016 to help cover the costs of this project.
