This practical training course will give a deep dive into performing Bayesian analyses in R and SAS. It is aimed at statisticians who need to be able to conduct Bayesian analyses as part of their day to day work. By the end of the course participants will be able to conduct their own analyses.
The course will begin with an introduction into Bayesian general principles including prior distribution, likelihood, posterior distribution, predictive distribution and Bayesian vs frequentist inference
The course will then progress into learning how to implement Bayesian analyses in R: Stan and SAS: PROC MCMC
Examples of using Bayesian analyses in clinical trials will be discussed
This course will have a hands-on approach so participants must bring a laptop with R (latest version if possible), R studio and SAS installed (if available). The R Stan package should also be installed.
