Overview

Suitable for PhD candidates in statistics or a related discipline. Full-time for 10-12 weeks in Summer 2024. Remote working, from the United States or the United Kingdom. (Astellas Pharma is based in Northbrook, Illinois, USA).

Successful candidates will work closely with a senior-level statistician and/or a real-world data expert on the design and analysis of clinical trials, observational studies, epidemiology, and statistical research topics. The project will be a hands-on learning experience involving statistical and related data review and data analysis programming tasks. The programming tasks will involve SAS, R, Python, and/or other statistical software on the UNIX platform.   

Basic qualifications

To be considered, applicants must be currently working towards a PhD in statistics, biostatistics, mathematics, epidemiology, or related discipline, and have completed a BSc (Hons) or BA (Hons) degree or equivalent, or an MSc or MA. The applicant must be legally authorized to work in the United States or the United Kingdom. In addition, applicants should have good programming skills, as noted above, and good communication skills.
