DESCRIPTION:Time: 10:00 - 12:00 UK time\nPresenters:&nbsp\;Jessica Purchase
 \, Group Health Economics Manager (F. Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd\, Welwyn)&nbsp
\;and Monica Daigl\, HTA Statistician and Health Economist (F. Hoffmann-La
Roche Ltd\, Basel)\n\n\nAbstract:\nThere is a simple equation for access
in the UK: Access = Reimbursement + Uptake\nYet\, whilst a simple and logi
cal approach\, each component is challenging to achieve.\nThis webinar foc
uses on the National Reimbursement side: the National Institute for Health
and Care Excellence (NICE) - who they are\, what is involved in the Healt
h Technology Appraisal (HTA) assessment\, how they make decisions.\nWe&rsq
uo\;ll also review where the devolved nations come in: how do the Scottish
Medicines Consortium (SMC) and All Wales Medicines Strategy Group (AWMSG)
differ from NICE in decision making?\nFinally\, through the use of a real
world example\, we&rsquo\;ll explore the key drivers and barriers experie
nced in decision making: specifically the challenges associated with corre
ct comparators and predicting of long term outcomes.\nThis will lead to th
e second part of the webinar. We will focus on two advanced statistical te
chniques to inform health economic models: modelling of time to event endp
oints such as progression free and overall survival beyond the duration of
a clinical study to predict long-term outcomes\; and network meta analyse
s to estimate the value of a drug in the absence of direct comparative evi
dence.\nFinally\, we provide our key recommendations for the future of cli
nical trial design\, to support access for the UK market.\n\n\nAbout the P
resenters:\n\nJessica Purchase is a Group Health Economics Manager&nbsp\;i
n the Health Economics and&nbsp\;Strategic Pricing team in Roche UK. She j
oined Roche in&nbsp\;2016\, following 5 years of Health Economics and Mark
et Access consulting. In her role she has successfully lead on a variety o
f HTAs resulting in UK access in the oncology space.\n\n\n\nMonica Daigl i
s a medical statistician and epidemiologist with &gt\;15 years of experien
ce in the analysis of clinical trials and observational studies in pharma\
, medical device industry and academia. She joined 2014 the Global Access
